Flag Football - Fall 2026

LYS FLAG FOOTBALL NEW THIS YEAR

Grades: 1st 2nd & 3rd   

Early bird Fee: $60.  July 1st increases to $65

Season: August - October  

Practices: We will have a mini Combine that will take place early August, dates TBD. Team practices will start shortly after. Practice will be 2 nights a week (Mon-Thurs) until school starts. Then down to Tuesday/Thursdays

Games: Saturdays - various locations. First league game will be early September, date TBD.

Team Sponsors: $250 (Sponsorship request is not guaranteed. Sponsorships limited to 1 per team & dependent upon registration numbers & team placements) 

LYS Footballs purpose is to introduce young players to the game of Flag football & to start developing the fundamentals they will need to play at the junior & high school levels.  This will be done in a climate of good sportsmanship & with respect for others.  

LYS Football is a member of Whatcom County Youth Football League.  This is a recreational football league.  Playing time is required to be equal, yes  the league does have a minimum play rule.  We do encourage all to join us this first season. 

Players learn discipline, sportsmanship & camaraderie.  Few other sports require the dedication & perseverance that football does.  We know our system is not perfect & that it is impossible to please everyone.  Teams generally practice 4 days a week before school starts & 2 days after that, w/ games on Saturdays.  It is a big time commitment but usually comes with a big pay off in attitude, self-confidence & an understanding of the value of teamwork.   

Cheer 2026 - Fall 2026

Grades: 1st - 6th

Season: August - October

Come make new friends and reunite with old friends by cheerleading! LYS Cheer is a recreational cheer program that teaches sideline cheers, chants, stunts, and halftime dances to support the LYS Football teams. Cheerleaders will perform at tackle football games on Saturdays during the LYS Football season.

There will be two practices per week before games begin. After games begin, there will be one practice per week and one game on Saturdays.

Tackle Football - Fall 2026

LYS Tackle Football

Grades: 4th-6th  Will be your grade in the upcoming school year.

Fee: $165    

Season: August - October 31st  

Practices: Combine will take place August 6th & 7th. Official team practices will start August 10th. Practice will be 4 nights a week (Mon-Thurs) until the start of school. Then will be Tuesday and Thursdays

Games: Saturdays - various locations. First league game will be September 12th

LYS Volleyball 2026 - Fall 2026

LYS Volleyball is a great place for beginners getting their first touches, all the way to experienced players improving their skills. 

Registration is open to all girls and boys 3^rd – 8^th Grade who live or attend school within Whatcom County communities. WARNING!!!! Jerseys run small so size up please.

Coaches/Referees: Please sign up online; volunteers will be background checked

Practices: All practices will be held at the Old Lynden Middle School and will begin the week of August 31st. Day of the week and time are determined by the coach you are assigned.

Games: All games will be on Saturdays starting September 12th and ending October 24th. Senior/Junior division will have their games at the Old Lynden Middle School and the Peewees will have their games at Bernice Vossbeck.

Soccer 2026 - Fall 2026

Recreational soccer league for 2nd - 12th grades. Games & Practices held at Bender Fields in Lynden, WA.

Grades: 2nd - 12th (high school co-ed)  

Early Bird Fee: $55
Deadline: June 30

Regular Registration Fee: $60 ($5 late fee applied after July 20) 

Season: September 12 - October 31

Practices: Begin late August. One or two weeknights before the games begin at the discretion of the coach. One night per week after games begin. 

Games: Saturday mornings at Bender Fields.

(Business name will go on back of team shirt. Specify preferred shirt color, if any. Sponsor spots are not guaranteed & are dependent upon registration numbers and team placements.)

All fees must be paid at time of application or the applicant will not be placed on a team. Space is limited; order of acceptance determined by receipt of application and fee payment. All players participate in games, practices, etc. at their own risk. LYS is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or lost equipment.

Summer Baseball 2026 - Summer 2026

LYS Summer Baseball League

Grades: 1-2 Coed Pitching Machine, Grades 3-4 Player Pitch & Grades 5-6 Player Pitch 
Fee: $60.00
Deadline: June 12, 2026 (Deadline – first come, first serve – with a $5.00 late fee)
Season: Games begin June 22nd 2026 and end by July 23rd 2026. 2 Games per week Monday-Thursdays. No Weekend Games
Practice: Starting June 10, 2025, one or two practices first week. Once games have started there will be minimal practice times per week if any.
Games: 10 Total Games Most at Bender Fields and some may be played at various Whatcom County locations
