Recreational soccer league for 2nd - 12th grades. Games & Practices held at Bender Fields in Lynden, WA.

Grades: 2nd - 12th (high school co-ed)

Early Bird Deadline: July 1, 2024 

*IF YOU ARE REGISTERING AFTER 8/19, YOU WILL GET YOUR TEAM SHIRT TWO WEEKS INTO THE SEASON. 

Fee: $50 ($5 late fee applied after July 1) 

Season: September 7 - October 26, 2024 

Practices: Begin the week of August 26. One or two weeknights before the games begin at the discretion of the coach. One night per week after games begin. 

Games: Saturdays at Bender Fields.   

Coaches Needed: We are always looking for coaches. If you are interested, please sign up here or contact us with any questions. 

Team Sponsors: $150
(Business name will go on back of team shirt. Specify preferred shirt color, if any. Sponsor spots are not guaranteed & are dependent upon registration numbers and team placements)

All fees must be paid at time of application or the applicant will not be placed on a team. Space is limited; order of acceptance determined by receipt of application and fee payment. All players participate in games, practices, etc. at their own risk. LYS is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or lost equipment.

Football - Fall 2024

LYS Tackle Football

Grades: 4th-6th  

Fee: $145    

Season: August - October  

Practices: Combine will take place August 8 & 9. Official team practices will start August 12. Practice will be 4 nights a week (Mon-Thurs) until school starts. Then go down to Tuesday and Thursdays

Games: Saturdays - various locations. First league game will be September 7

Team Sponsors: $1,000 (Sponsorship request is not guaranteed. Sponsorships limited to 1 per team & dependent upon registration numbers & team placements) 

LYS Footballs purpose is to introduce young players to the game of football & to start developing the fundamentals they will need to play at the junior high & high school levels.  This will be done in a climate of good sportsmanship & with respect for others.  

LYS Football is a member of Whatcom County Youth Football League.  This is NOT a recreational football league.  Playing time is not required to be equal, however the league does have a minimum play rule.  We do not want to discourage anyone from playing, but we want both parents & players to be aware this is a competitive league. 

Players learn discipline, sportsmanship & camaraderie.  Few other sports require the dedication & perseverance that football does.  We know our system is not perfect & that it is impossible to please everyone.  The teams generally practice 4 days a week before school starts & 2 days a week after that, with games on Saturdays.  It is a big time commitment but usually comes with a big pay off in attitude, self-confidence & an understanding of the value of teamwork.
